What is the HAtch Restore?

The Hatch Restore is a “bedside sleep guide” made for adults. It is equipped with various sleep sounds like white noise, brown noise, water sounds, and more. What sets it a part from your standard sound machine is the ability to create bedtime routines to help you (and your body) relax and get settled for a better night’s sleep.

Key features

  • Bedtime and wake routines – Create a wind down, sleep, and wake up routine to help you go to bed and rise at a scheduled time. You can choose from a number of options for your wind down/bedtime routine in the Hatch sound library like mini podcasts, bedtime stories, and sleep sounds. To rise, there are many great musical options.

  • Sunrise alarm – The Hatch Restore gentle sunrise alarm is full customizable to help support your natural circadian rhythm. You can choose from various sounds and color settings to find your perfect fit. No more loud  alarms that startle you out of your sleep!

  • Sleep sounds – The Hatch sound library offers a number of sleep sounds fitting for every user to help you drown out background noise and sleep more deeply.

  • Bedside light – Not only does it function as a sound machine, but you can also use it as a bedside light. No more having to get up to turn off your main bedroom light!

  • Rest and rise buttons – Easy start, snooze, or stop your sleep and wake routine.

  • Neutral color options – you can choose from 3 natural colors fitting for any bedroom.

does it actually work?

Image of an illuminated Hatch Restore also known as the Hatch sound machine during a night wind down routineFor me, yes! Since using my Hatch Restore, I’ve noticed that I’m able to sleep deeper. This is important for me because as a first time (and stay at home mom) it’s hard for me to get quality sleep. Before having my son, I could sleep through just about anything. After having him though, even the slightest sound like the opening of my bedroom door wakes me up.

I like to listen to the campfire sound that’s available in the Hatch sound library because the crackling wood is calming for me. Now, when my husband wakes up and opens the door, I rarely hear him. I can definitely say that I’ve seen improvement in my sleep.

The the thing that I love most is that I can create a schedule that I can make sure to get to bed around the same time each night.

Where to purchase the hatch restore

What is the HAtch REst+?

The Hatch Rest+ is a portable sound machine designed specifically for babies, toddlers, and big kids. It is pretty much the same as the Hatch Rest. The only difference is that the Rest+ comes with a backup battery so that you can use it wherever you’d like. The Hatch Rest+ is made to help make nap time and bedtime more enjoyable. The best part about it is that it grows with your little one. This means you can use it for many years!

key features

  • Sound machine – The Hatch Rest+ functions as a sound machine and there are ton of sound options to choose from in the Hatch sound library.

  • Portable – It is equipped with a back up battery which makes it easy to move anywhere in the house. If there’s ever a power outage, you can still use the device!

  • Night light – Provides a soft glow for those midnight feedings or story time.

  • Bedtime routine and Time-to-rise – Like the Hatch Restore, you can create a bedtime and wakeup routine for your little one. You can choose a sound and light combination that works best for them.

  • Mindfulness – As your little one gets older, you can use the Hatch app to create mini mindfulness moments to help them wind down before bed.

Does it actually work?

Image of an illuminated Hatch Rest+ also known as the Hatch sound machine for kids during a night wind down routineMy almost two-year-old LOVES is Hatch Rest+. A couple of months ago I transitioned him to his toddler bed and he had a hard time staying in his room. I created a routine for him to help get the wiggles out using a light and song combination in the app. He loves to dance so this was the perfect motivator for him to stay in his room.

While he’s sleeping at night, I programmed his Hatch to light up red and play water sounds. I taught him that red means to “stop and go to sleep”. This has helped him sleep for longer stretches at night. He used to wake up 2 to 3 times at night but now he only wakes up once! I truly believe it’s because his Hatch Rest+ is helping to get a more deep and higher quality of sleep.

Where to purchase the hatch Rest+

The Hatch Rest+ ($89) can be purchased directly from the Hatch website. It’s also available at at TargetBest Buy, Walmart, and Saks Fifth Avenue. If you don’t need the backup battery, the Hatch Rest ($59) is a great option. It is available at Target, Best Buy, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue.

So, is the hatch sound machine Actually worth it?

Short Answer: YES!

Long Answer: I would definitely recommend the Hatch Restore to any adult who has a hard time falling and staying asleep. Especially if you don’t want to fall asleep using a device with a screen. Being able to customize your wind down routine is beneficial in helping you to stick to a schedule and make sure you’re being consistent.

The same goes for the Hatch Rest+. My son loves his and I can see how much better he’s sleeping at night. I love that we’ll be able to continue using it as he gets older. Customizing it to match his different stages of development sets it worlds a part from the sound machine we were previously using.
