How to Boost Your Hair’s Density and Thickness With Curlsmith

hair's density and thickness

It’s been a while since my last “30 Days With” post, but I’m bringing them back! This time I’ll be focusing on hair care. For the next 30 days, I’ll be trying out a couple of products from Curlsmith. These products claim to help boost you hair’s density and thickness.

The two Curlsmith products I’ll be using are the Scalp Stimulating Booster ($27 at Ulta) and Full Lengths Density Elixir ($39 at Ulta). I’ve tried products in the past that claimed to enhance hair growth or aid in increasing the hair’s density and thickness. However, I’ve never tried products quite like these.

Product breakdown:

Scalp Stimulating Booster – Curlsmith believes that healthy hair starts at the scalp. Which is why this product is a part of their Scalp Recipe collection. This booster is a leave-in serum that you do not wash off.

It contains two active ingredients, Baicapil and Anagain. They help create the optimal environment for your hair follicles. Other ingredients in the booster include: Guarana Extract, Ginger and Nettle, Dragon Fruit, and Chinese Skullcap (a member of the mint family).

The booster should be used each morning, for at least 3 months. Interestingly, this booster only works where it is applied. Unlike hair vitamins that can cause hair growth everywhere, this product doesn’t cause any unwanted growth.

Full Lengths Density Elixir – Like the booster, this elixir is also a part of Curlsmith’s Scalp Recipe collection. It is also a leave-in product.

It is a blend of actives and naturally stimulating ingredients. The actives include Redensyl, Capixyl, Procapil, Baicapil, and Anagain. The naturally stimulating ingredients include Castor Oil, Amla, Cedar Wood, Witch Hazel, Green Tea, Clover, and Thyme. There are a lot of big words here so there’s a list of resources for more info at the end of this post!

This elixir is to be used at night, for at least 3 months. While using the products, I will follow the recommendations of Curlsmith and use the booster in the AM and elixir in the PM.

There will be a couple of posts over on my instagram. These post will show my hair’s current density and thickness. They’ll also show the initial application of each product. My main focus will be to see how it works on the perimeter of my hair. Especially my edges and nape area. I’m excited to see how the next few months go! Be sure to check back to see if I’ve noticed any changes in the first month. At that time, I’ll also share if I will continue using them.

Have you ever used these products or products like them? What are your thoughts? Are you open to trying them? Let me know in the comments!
