How to Decide When it’s Time to Pivot

time to pivot

When things in your life change, you can choose to do nothing or go with the flow of said change. I’ve been facing this decision for that past 3 months. Since having my baby, I’ve gone through so many emotions. Many of which I had no idea how to handle so I did nothing. However, I got to a point where I knew it was time to pivot.

My postpartum journey has had me on what feels like an endless loop of uncertainty. I’m uncertain of what my new place in life looks like. Uncertain when it comes to what my social media presence looks like. Even uncertain of what I ultimately want to do in life. I’ve come to realize though, that I have to be fluid. It’s okay to pivot as many times as necessary until things begin to feel right.

The one thing that I know I can more easily control is my social media presence and how I want to use them.

The main focus of my Instagram and YouTube started out as natural hair. As my interests changed, I began including other topics such as skincare and my food adventures. Now that I’m a first time mama, I’d like to share more of my motherhood journey. So, I’ve decided that it’s time to pivot my content in order to effectively touch on all of my interests.

In the creator space we are often told to find a lane and stick to it. Become an expert on one thing and people will trust you. I, however, am not a single minded person. I am a multi-faceted being who wants to share all of my interests in some capacity,

With that in mind, I’ve come up with three content pillars that will allow me to showcase all the things I love: Beauty, motherhood, and lifestyle. Each month I will, or at least try to, publish 1-2 posts covering each content pillar here on my blog. I’ll also send out a monthly newsletter recapping what’s new.

If you aren’t already subscribed, be sure to do so by scrolling to the bottom of this page and signing up! I promise, it will be worth it.There just might be surprise giveaways exclusively for my newsletter subscribers.

So, there you have it, the reasons I’ve decided that it’s time to pivot and how I plan on doing so. I truly hope you enjoy all that is to come!

When is the last time you felt the need to pivot?
